Hiroshi Tanahashi

A lot of people may call Takahashi “the John Cena of NJPW.” Character wise, maybe. They’ve both been the main guy on their respective rosters for a while now. But the difference is in the quality of their work. I’m not going to be one of those guys that’s just going to say “John Cena wins LOL” because I legitimately like John Cena. Whoever is on top gets scrutinized a bit more, and I think Cena takes way more shit than he deserves. But it’s rare to see a match where you say “John Cena was awful in that match.”

Wait, who am I supposed to be talking about here? Tanahashi. He’s entertaining, he’s charismatic, he can brawl, he can wrestle…He’s just damn good. Watch a Takahashi match, you won’t be disappointed. He reminds me of a later career Shawn Michaels, and it’s hard to get much better than that.
